EXHIBITION UPDATE

It is with sadness that I have to announce that Yardley Photographic Society will no longer hold an annual BPE exhibition.

Thank you all for your kind comments over the years that encouraged us to carry on but things have now run their course and it’s time to hand over the baton to those waiting in the wings.

Thanks to all the judges for selecting the images that gave us our excellent exhibitions.

We would like to thank all those who have supported us over the years, not only those of you who entered images but also those who stayed to help repack the prints and dismantle the exhibition at the end of the night.

To all YPS members their family and friends who freely donated their time and effort it was all of you pulling together that helped make the exhibitions the successes they were.

Summer Photowalk

Although not part of our varied summer programme it was suggested by Bill D’Arcy that he’d like to try a photowalk around the Library of Birmingham Area. So a few of us headed out on a Sunday morning stroll. It was a relaxed occasion shooting owls to architecture for a hour and half.

We are looking to do similar walks in and around the city, so if you are interested in coming along please contact the club for more details.   A small selection of images are available to view in the YPS Events section of the gallery.

John Bate

We are sorry to announce the sad loss of long-time president and member of YPS, John Bate. John was well known and liked throughout the Birmingham and West Midlands photographic community and will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him. The club extends its sincere condolences to John’s family and friends.

Bryan Parker

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of one of the club’s long-standing members, Bryan Parker. The club extends its sincere condolences to Bryan’s family and friends.
